The company

The company is part of a quality chilled foods group supplying to a number of the major retailers including Tesco, Waitrose and Morrison’s. It makes a wide range of chilled foods in well-invested sites that give its staff the facilities and environment to produce food to the highest quality and food safety standards.

The job

As Hygiene Manager you will lead, train, coach, develop and motivate the hygiene team and drive a culture that promotes the continuous improvement of personal and factory standards.  You will also conduct COSHH assessments, risk assessments, document safe systems of work for all hygiene tasks, investigate non-conformances and ensure that corrective actions are taken and ensure that all hygiene audits relating to Health & Safety, GMP, HACCP and hygiene systems are carried out and issues followed up. Being an integral member of the management team, you will work closely with other departments i.e. technical, engineering and operations, whilst ensuring that microbiological standards are monitored and maintained within internal and customer target levels.  In addition, you will participate in customer site visits / audits and factory tours and manage the department expenditure against budget throughout the year, driving cost savings in hygiene overheads.

Your experience

The successful candidate will have significant experience in a similar role in the chilled food manufacturing industry together with experience of dealing with the major multiple retailers and implementation of their hygiene standards / COP’s plus experience of Tesco, TFMS and BRC audit processes. In addition, you should possess excellent people management skills with the proven ability to lead and develop teams, coach and mentor team members.  You will have excellent verbal and written communication skills with the confidence and ability to work with people at all levels.

More details

The Hygiene Manager job is based in the East Midlands region and is paying £40,000 - £45,000. The standard working hours are Monday to Friday, office hours although you will need to occasionally be flexible.
