Bread Unit Manager, Cheshire
A great opportunity for an experience Baker to take on a stand alone unit in a larger food manufacturer.
This a very interesting position with a high degree of autonomy for the right person. We are looking for someone to manage a small bakery run as a standalone unit within a larger food manufacturing facility. The larger business manufacturers a range of savoury and sweet bakery products for the foodservice and the wholesale sector and this 'bread unit' will supplement the range with loaves, baguettes and buns. Recently the site has been upgraded with state of the art machinery and there is a desire to see production double over the next year.
The Bread Unit Manager position is very varied and will oversee materials ordering, planning, scheduling, production, product development and staff management. You will report to the Operations Manager of the wider business but take responsibility for your Units output. This would therefore suit someone with broad experience in the bakery sector who has run their own business or small bakery in the past. Operating as part of a larger organisation will be able to utilise your range of skills and knowledge within an established support network.
- Extensive knowledge in the bakery sector
- Prior experience in managing a bakery team
- Understanding of current food safety laws
- Product development experience
- Commercial awareness
- Ability to work with multiple stakeholders and communicate effectively
