Here at Zest Recruitment we are currently looking for a Quality Technician. We are looking for candidates who has experience with assisting in the quality assurance department, also candidates who have had experience with checking products both manufacturing on site or by the supplier is up to full quality of the company policies and are safe, legal and meet customer expectations. This company started initially as a small family run business, then after around five years they moved in to their first major manufacturing site. Within the fifty years they have been operating they have a very strong team who travels around the world doing market research and sampling products to bring the customers of the UK some of the finest products around the world to our local retailers on your doorstep.

The Quality Technician's key responsibilities will be:
*Carry out temperature checks on refrigerators in staff facilities.
*At the beginning of each working day, check that all thermometers used checking temperatures for cooking and filling are within calibration limits.
*At the beginning of each working day verify the pH meters have been calibrated and are working correctly.
*At the beginning and end of each working day check that all scales used in production are in an appropriate condition and are working correctly.
*When required verify the efficacy of allergen clean-downs through a combination of visual assessment and swabbing; similarly following the spillage of food-allergen.
*Weekly verify that all chemical dispensers are working correctly and that chemical solutions in use are the correct strength.
*When required verify the efficacy of clean-downs following engineering work by visual assessment.
*When required manage the cleaning up following a glass-breakage in production. Afterwards verify the efficacy of the clean-up by visual assessment.
*Sample products and raw materials as and when required following the standard procedure; after sampling send the sample to the appropriate contract laboratory for analysis.
*Daily walk lines and review worksheets and other paperwork to see it is being completed fully and accurately and that the guidelines for the completion of records are being complied with.
*Coordinate daily taste panels and produce assessments.
