Job Title                  Application Manager - EMEA

Based at                  Hull - UK

Reporting to           Group Technical Director

                                 Sales Director – EMEA (dotted line to)

Job Purpose Summary

Part of the R&D team he/she will support the EMEA sales team offering them another way to bring excitement in front of the customers. The main task of the job is to incorporate our FD and Baked ingredients into finished consumer products. Under the direction of the Group technical Director they will develop a close relationship with the regional Sales Director.

Key requirements:

  • A passion for food
  • Preferably a Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science, or equivalent
  • Preferably 5 years Research and Development experience in the food industry
  • Must have a working knowledge of food safety, including, HACCP, GMP’s, and international food regulations
  • Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications
  • Must have strong technical, analytical, and interpersonal skills
  • Must be able to communicate effectively at all levels, using appropriate media
  • Must have strong presentation skills, and be confident in front of customer audience
  • Must be available to travel in EMEA

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop applications for the use of company products, including nutritional profile, cost, and other analysis
  • Research new trends and applications relevant to strategic commercial markets (Confectionary, Bakery, Ice cream, Salad and Ready meals)
  • Actively seek out and develop product improvements
  • Maintain needs of current and future customers
  •  Build End Use Market presentation packs
  • Create website content including demonstration videos
  •  Work with cross functional teams to develop formulations and ingredients that solve customer issues through understanding their needs
  • Travel to Chaucer sites and customer locations in EMEA

Required experience/education:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in several food businesses as a culinary chef
  • Minimum Bachelor degree (Preferred but not essential)

Environment:

  • Working in application kitchen, customer premises and exhibitions 
  • Travel is estimated up to 50%, and includes EMEA trips
