About the job

The candidate will be based in the Food Experience Centre in the centre of the new Heart building, the facility is a versatile area that will be a cookery school, a food theatre and an event space, providing a dynamic environment in which Tesco own brand product will be showcased.

Working adjacent to the product development kitchen, the environment will be fast paced and food focused.

The role brings the opportunity to work with Tesco development chefs and experts across the industry in all areas of food and manufacture.

This role is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Chef/Home Economist looking to continue to grow their skills and knowledge with a new experience.

Main Responsibilities

  • Advising and supporting development of great quality, value and innovation within my product and packaging portfolio.
  • Ensuring our products have a clear customer & business rationale in line with the category, brand and supplier strategy by working to the Product Development Process .
  • Managing the critical path though stakeholder management and effective communication to ensure all of my products are launched on time.
  • Ensuring all our products are formulated in line with our Product Rules, corporate initiatives, category plans and   brand principles. 
  • Being an advocate for Tesco brand & sharing my expertise & product stories though actively participating in internal and external  engagement events.
  • Keeping to date with trends in product, packaging & lifestyle, competitor activity & market dynamics and sharing with my team.
  • Contributing to my categories supplier strategy to effectively deliver a strategic development plan for my area.
  • Following our Business Code of Conduct & always acting with integrity and due diligence.
