As a key part of the EMEA R&D function, and reporting directly to Packaging Development Director EMEA, this role is responsible for leading packaging development, cost savings and innovation projects. This role will lead all EMEA Industrial Packaging Development activities.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Managing packaging development projects, liasing with R&D, Operations, Procurement, Suppliers and key Customers;
  • Ensuring briefs are met (quality, fit for purpose, cost) and line performance is validated;
  • Managing packaging specifications and maintain the integrity of EMEA associated databases;
  • Establishing packaging standards via factory trials to ensure that proposed packaging materials are fit for purpose (i.e. appropriate material/ components, acceptable quality, adequate performance and efficiency on packing line) and gaining approval from all relevant parties.
  • Managing CCI projects (supplier change or specification change) and initiating CCI ideas;
  • Participating in new packaging equipment selection and technical validation
  • Continuously seeking the identification of new technology supporting the company's growth.
  • Generating innovative ideas that will take advantage of emerging opportunities.
  • Communicating technical information, opportunities and potential risks in business environment to facilitate effective decision making.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

  • BSc in Package Engineering or other relevant technical field is required;
  • Significant packaging development and project leadership experience as part of a project team that is responsible for design and implementation of cross-functional projects;
  • FMCG, preferably food industry, business experience in international environment would be an asset;
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise good judgment in high pressure, sensitive situations;
  • Ability to create a vision for the future, identify and resolve gaps;
  • Ability to work with and influence multiple stakeholders and all levels of management;
  • Leadership experience
  • Strong analytical skills, ability to develop and apply compelling direction to variety of complex and sometimes ambiguous situations as required.
