Key Expectations

Health and Safety



To be accountable for all aspects of health and safety within Engineering and ensure H&S is at the forefront of how the department performs. Ensuring compliance with all legislation, company policy and requirements in respect of Health and Safety (and Environment)

Quality Standards



Lead and drive standards of quality, food safety, hygiene and housekeeping through Good Manufacturing Practice (G.M.P.) to ensure that both business and customer standards are exceeded and audit requirements are fully met. Ensuring compliance with all legislation, company policy (and where appropriate customer) and requirements in respect of food safety.

People and Performance Management



Provide leadership, motivation and focus for site engineering team. Lead by example developing a positive culture whilst fostering good employee relations through fair, effective and consistent people management. Create an Environment where team members value each other's talents and work collaboratively. Utilise the performance management systems (i.e. PDR) and if necessary impose disciplinary sanctions in accordance with Company Policy.

Training and Development



Take accountability for the training and development of your shift. Actively coach, develop and train team members to the required level of competence to encourage continuous improvement within the business.

Communication



To work closely with the management teams building common goals, ensuring effective communications and working relationships at all levels.

Performance Improvement (through use of KPIs)



To deliver against core engineering goals and KPIs to aid operations to achieve sales and distribution requirements, seeking opportunities to improve performance at all times. Develops and implements PIPs and identifies areas for improvement. To develop a culture of continuous improvement, eliminating reoccurring issues by resolving the root cause.

Maintenance



To implement, maintain and enforce a 'best in class' maintenance system. Through use of CMMS system all equipment will be maintained to the highest standard optimising availability and Site 'OEE'. All necessary critical stocks will be identified and sourced to minimise impact of part failure.

  • Builds key relationships with Senior Leadership Team
  • Seeks opportunities to stretch and challenge high performers
  • Works with Site Engineering Manager and others in introduction of new policies and procedures
  • Provides leadership and support for team in dealing with performance management issues
  • Performance and attendance is viewed as a key operational issue
  • Quality of hearings and documentation is consistently professional
  • Recognises teams training requirements and actively seeks to develop them
