This is a challenging and rewarding role working for a long-established manufacturer. Sticking to traditional manufacturing methods, the business strives to operate as environmentally responsible as possible to produce a wide range of organic and natural products.
Your role as Technical Manager will be to ensure that all food safety, quality, technical, legal and customer requirements are met in full and to manage a small team across the sites ensuring a sound structure is in place to deliver continuous improvement whilst maintaining third party certifications.
You will implement BRC requirements, coordinate all customer audits & visits, ensure a comprehensive HACCP system is implemented, identify non-conformances through quality and hygiene audits, maintain raw materials/packaging specifications, carry out supplier auditing as required, instruct all new employees on hygiene and food safety, coordinate outside contractors plus control the budget for the technical and hygiene departments.
To be considered for the Technical Manager job, you will have solid experience within a senior QA or technical role in food manufacturing, most ideally within bakery. You will have strong working knowledge of BRC standard v7, be experienced in managing customer audits plus be HACCP qualified (Level 3).
The Technical Manager job is based in the South Central / South West region and is paying £45,000 - £55,000 according to individual skills and previous experience. The working hours are Monday to Friday, however some flexibility including weekends may be required to meet the needs of the business.
