Assistant Technical Manager is required by this mainstream food manufacture who provide a broad variety of chilled food products to the Airlines and other Food Service businesses as well as the Multiple Retailers.


This is an impressive operation with volume outputs of high-risk chilled food products requiring high energy input from the technical team and all stakeholders to meet the production plan in an environment of continuous improvement.


THE ASSISTANT TECHNICAL MANAGER will lead the Technical function to ensure all prepared and finished products are produced in line with customer specifications as well as food safety and quality legislation. You will need to work alongside other departments to ensure that quality systems are maintained and improved. Key responsibilities will include:
*To ensure compliance with all company procedures and to assist the Head of Technical in all areas of management and to ensure total compliance with current legislation.
*Continuously striving to improve GMP standards, implementing factory action plans and complaints reduction initiatives, carrying out investigations and undertaking root cause analysis to identify and implement effective solutions.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE will have a proved track record within a Technical Team in the food industry. You will also have:
*Proven experience in applicable food industry role (QA Manager or equivalent)
*Ideally gained experience in a 'high risk', chilled food manufacturing environment
*Customer facing experience with a UK grocery retailer essential
*Knowledge of BRC / retailer Quality Management Systems/ Codes of Practice essential
