Multi-Skilled Engineer - NO NIGHT SHIFT

Location: Cambridgeshire

Salary: up to £40k

I am currently recruiting a multi-skilled engineer for my client who are a small family business based in Cambridgeshire area, with no night shift involved. You'll be working on average 40 hours a week, Monday to Friday for 3 weeks, on the forth week you'll have to do a weekend shift. (More than happy to share the more detailed and tabled shift pattern with you).

Key Responsibilities and Tasks
  • Comply with companies working practise to maintain a Healthy and Safe Environment
  • Carry out routine preventative maintenance tasks and corrective actions according to task list issued from whole plant maintenance plan
  • Resolve breakdowns as they occur

Investigate root cause
  • Recommend long term fixes
  • Maintain clear communication with both engineering and production teams to ensure teamwork through-out the whole operations team

Key Skills & Competences
  • Trouble shoot machine breakdowns, find root cause and get plant running soon, any short term fixes to be recorded for completion at a later date
  • Fault find and repair: PLC inputs & outputs using electrical meters
  • Component failure - motors, sensor, relays, soft starts & inverters
  • Electrical, hydraulic & pneumatic faults using drawings
  • Maintain all electrical components and installations in good working order
  • Able to use a computer system to receive and record work and other findings
  • Aware and able to follow Safe Working Practises
  • Have mechanical skills to include:
  • Changing bearings, chains, sprockets & belts
  • Ability to arc and MIG weld
  • Ability to logically analyse situations and plan practical solutions
  • Ability to anticipate problems and take action to prevent failures

The Candidate

  • Engineering Qualification / Time Served Apprenticeship
  • Previous Experience in processing /recycling etc
  • Passion to Learn and Develop

To be considered for the role, it's essential for you to have a formal engineering degree / a time served apprenticeship / NVQ or C&G qualification. Although It would be preferred if you were electrically bias, mechanically bias candidates will also be considered.

You will have a positive attitude at all times, open to change with a proactive approach and passionate attitude to business success.
