An opportunity now exists for a Development Technologist to support this growth within our functional soft and liquid cheese product range.

You will be responsible for managing the formulation and creation of new products from concept stage through to pilot and factory trial in line with our R&D strategy. You will work with the site management team to develop our current recipes ensuring that we maximize plant efficiency whilst optimizing the product. You’ll oversee the samples process onsite ensuring that we proactively advise customers on product functionality to deliver on commercial opportunities.

The role will be strongly focussed on ensuring our systems and processes deliver optimum quality products that meet customer’s flavour and functionality requirements.  As such you will work with R&D and Operations to manage the handover procedure from R&D stage to full production and develop relevant SOPs for new products.  And, as a business driven by innovation, you will work closely with R&D and Site to identify areas for improvement within the plant; validating equipment suitability, managing trials on new equipment and supporting launch of new products.

Analytical and organized, you will have good knowledge of Pasteurisation, Homogenisation, incubation & cooling along with an understanding of cheese composition. You will have a detailed understanding of dairy protein chemistry, functional ingredients and cultured/fermented milk products, either through a relevant Degree level education or through industry experience. You will have experience within an NPD function, either with retailers or B2B, and you’ll possess a genuine interest in meeting customer needs through developing your expertise with a ‘behind the scenes’ product range. With a flexible and structured approach to your work, this role offers an opportunity to work closely with all functional areas to delight our customers.
