Process Development is not something that anyone can do. Good Process Development people are actually quite hard to find. You are a certain sort of person - a perfectionist, a grafter, someone who can get on with everyone, extremely organised... the list goes on!
Our client is an extremely successful food manufacturing business supplying delicious, state of the art products to the major retailers. They haven't got this far by keeping the "status quo". As a business it challenges the norm and with regards to innovation it is certainly one of the leaders in its field.
As a result, we have been asked to find an experienced individual who loves a challenge and has a sense of pride in their work. You enjoy breaking new products down and working out how they can be put through the factory while not losing any of their qualities that got them passed by the customer in the first place (but not incurring any more costs - obviously!).
Certainly, the role of the Process Development Manager is a very demanding one. You have to make sure that all disciplines within the business are talking to each other - and you. Communication in this job is vital and you know how to get the best out of everyone.
You are an excellent all-rounder. You have a food science background but you can also "speak" Engineering / Operations/Technical/ Procurement/NPD, as well as maintain an excellent rapport with the customer.
You are certainly excellent at juggling many balls in the air - and you wouldn't have it any other way. But you need a change - or, dare I say it, more of a challenge?
