To assist us in achieving our goal, we are seeking a Production and Food Supply Manager based at our Glasgow unit. Reporting into the Operations Manager you will ensure the success and smooth running of the relevant process areas.

What the role is:

To ensure the smooth running of the Production and Food Supply functions within the unit including receipt and storage of all food and production and food quality ensuring standards are being met to internal customer expectations. You will also be required to ensure the production and assembly of meals in line with scheduled activity managing the process effectively and maintaining food quality standards at all stages of the production process.

What you’ll be doing will include:

  • Plan and co-ordinate activities to meet schedule and unit targets utilising the identified best practice tools
  • Developing and implementing operational plans, ensuring contingency plans are developed and reviewed for effectiveness
  • Providing, analysing and reviewing information as required ensuring financial targets are met
  • Agree and effectively review action plans to ensure costs are controlled appropriately
  • Ensure that action plans are developed, reviewed and schedules are complied with to achieve on time delivery
  • Providing unit manager with periodic reports regarding process performance
  • Ensuring all stock orders and quantities reflect scheduled activity
  • Ensuring all Food Safety and HACCP standards are met and compliance documentation completed and filed
  • Ensuring that further checks of SAP include: spot check of order accuracy and stock and supplier file verification
  • Ensuring effective yield check management occurs
  • Ensuring effective wastage management
  • Ensure that period-end stocktake activity is co-ordinated and to undertake briefings as required ensuring accuracy is maintained

What you’ll have will include:

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels
  • An in-depth knowledge of stock management covering chilled, frozen and ambient
  • An understanding of Health and Safety, Food Safety and HACCP  regulations in relation to operations
  • Understanding of Operational Management Systems
  • Experience of forecasting and working with a budget
  • People management skills, e.g. dealing with performance issues, grievances, holidays, and absence management
  • Ability to plan, organise and delegate
  • Possess a high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong IT skills and have the ability to manipulate data
  • Previous experience of working with SAP software
