My client are leading food manufacturer who have recently gone through a internal restructure due to the growth of the business, they now need to add in a new Production Shift Manager to their team at their Factory based in the Nottinghamshire region. 

The Production Shift Manager role reports into the Site Production Manager and is responsible to manage the production process and production staff in order to meet Cost, Quality,Productivity and Safety targets set by the Company, consistently and cost effectively.

The Role:

Effectively manage all operations within the specified sections to ensure KPI’s targets and business objectives are met.
Liaise with relevant internal departments to ensure the product is produced, loaded and dispatched in accordance with the ‘Production Plan’.
Ensure operations are conducted in compliance with customer specifications, whilst meeting cost, quality, productivity and H&S Targets.
Develop and review good working practices and SOP’s in accordance to company policies
Adhere to Food Standards legislation throughout the production process. Supervise quality of product and ensure non-conformances are dealt with in accordance with company policy in a timely and efficient timescale.
Implement and review continuous improvement initiatives to minimise downtime.
Ensure consistency in the application of the companies disciplinary, grievance and absence procedures
Ensure appraisals and reviews are carried out with staff
Continually look to develop staff within the section to ensure that staff are fully utilising their skills

The Person:

Generalist supervisory experience across broad range of disciplines involved in people management
Experience working in Food FMCG environment or any exposure of fast pace manufacturing operation
Relevant knowledge of Food Standards Act & relevant Health & Safety issues desirable
Knowledge of Continuous improvement & the Lean Principles
