You have the chance to join a well established FMCG manufacturer with a strong market presence. As the SHEQ Manager you will be the lead Quality & Safety person on site & as a result you will be driving quality improvements for the whole Milton Keynes facility.

As the SHEQ Manager you will be instrumental in ensuring they continue to gain customer satisfaction & that their standards reflect the industries to which they supply.


As the SHEQ Manager you be will be working closely with the rest of the management team in order to ensure that they drive Quality, Health, Safety & Environmental improvements. You will be ensuring the constant quality of their products & champion Health & Safety awareness.

Key responsibilities:

  • Ensure that the systems processes and procedures to promote the health, safety and wellbeing of employees, visitors and contractors are active and compliant in all respects and reflect best practice within the Group
  • Ensure the product quality from the site and the reduction in product related customer complaints
  • Promote awareness and familiarisation to BRC standard as well as ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, all Risk Management standards
  • Support for the site lead and the Group HSE manager to drive the strategic and operational management of risk throughout the business
  • Identify any potential health, safety, fire, environmental, quality and safety standards impacts from changes to processes, personnel and equipment
  • Complete inspections of the work place/site on a regular basis and to schedule and to ensure records of such inspections are maintained
  • Maintain accurate records of relevant health, safety, fire, environmental and quality
  • Facilitates all forms of risk assessments (general, manual handling, COSHH, fire prevention) and acts as a final authority where a specialist response is required in relation to risk assessments performed by others on site
  • Oversee development, validation and continuous improvement of risk assessment and associated programmes to meet regulatory and company requirements
  • Keep abreast of current of health, safety, environmental and food safety legislation
  • Provide relevant technical advice to management and workforce
  • Interpretation and application of legislation, industry good practice guidance and company policies
  • Coordinate the investigation process for all customer complaints across your site, ensuring that they are completed within the time frame required and that the root cause analysis is sufficient to prevent reoccurrence
  • Work with your respective site management teams to prepare for audits and ensure that all raised internal non-conformances are managed, investigated and completed within the agreed time frames
  • Identify, monitor and address trends and emerging risks
  • Ability to communicate at all levels across the business and to proactively challenge to achieve the best results
  • Actively contribute to the continual improvement of Hygiene standards and Good Manufacturing Practice across your site
  • Delivery of training as required in order to develop internal staff skills relating to risk assessments, accident investigations and health & safety and also to keep abreast of Legislation changes
  • Producing and coordinates the SHEQ action plan and prepares reports for monthly update for local and divisional SHEQ meetings


A Quality / SHEQ Manager with FMCG manufacturing experience and the following:

  • Knowledge of ISO 14001, ISO 9001, OHSAS 18001 and BRC
  • An understanding of & interest in improving health, safety & environmental procedure
  • Ability to influence and lead management and employees at all levels within the organisation
  • A passion for driving HSE & Quality Improvements
  • The ability to communicate across all levels of the organisation
