This is a great opportunity to join a well-established but ever-growing food company who are renowned for pushing boundaries with their innovative product ranges. Market leaders with their on trend food & drink offerings, they are now looking for a charismatic and competent Category Manager to help drive growth and enhance the NPD team’s propositions.

The Role

In this exciting and challenging role you’ll be responsible for the day to day category management of a range of delicious food products. You’ll be applying your commercial insight to provide world class marketing standards and strategically develop new business opportunities. Alongside managing one person, you’ll lead decisions on new products based on consumer understanding, brand fit and financial viability. Working cross-functionally with R&D you’ll develop and test innovation concepts for the commercial pipeline whilst continuously monitoring the performance of products.

With your flair for spotting the latest food and consumer trends you’ll anticipate the category direction, keeping a close commercial eye on industry movements whilst translating key insights into effective sales and marketing campaigns. You’ll ensure brand standards are in place, communicating with key teams guaranteeing new product launches and promotions are executed quickly. Additionally you’ll lead the strategic pricing plan for equity markets, taking a significant role in approving adjustments, providing support and a framework to all business partners.

The Person

Suit an enthusiastic foodie of graduate calibre who has gained invaluable experience in a similar Category Management role within retail, brand or food manufacturing. A proven record of leading product development projects from inspiration to completion in a branded business would be highly advantageous. You’ll have previously led operational business plans, category strategies and have a fantastic understanding of food trends.

It is essential that you have an aptitude for finance and numbers as you’ll also have P&L and budget responsibilities. Great project management, team leadership and influencing abilities combined with superb commercial acumen are crucial for achieving success in this role.
