Business Development Manager
As a revolutionary and unique award winning company, we are looking to further expand our wholesale team. Were currently seeking an experienced sales professional to look after and grow our business. The Northern field based BDM will primarily cover a Northern territory (Stoke upwards).
The role and responsibilities
You will be working with a highly successful and experienced team who are all targeted on growing the business. As part of your role, you will be responsible for seeking out new customers and opportunities to grow the business selling high quality and artisan food products. You will be responsible for generating your own leads, as well as following up with existing contacts to generate further opportunities. You'll be responsible for managing your time efficiently to maximise potential. You will also be required to attend a number trade shows and networking events which will enable you to identify and build your market. You will focus on day to day generation, as well as plan sales calls working in conjunction with the Account Managers assigned to your designated region.
What you'll need to succeed
You will ideally have worked as a Business Development Manager ideally within the fine foods arena and have previous B2B experience. You will have strong persuasive and negotiation skills, have demonstrable experience of working within a results driven business, and have an opportunistic and optimistic approach to business development.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
Minimum 2/3 years’ experience within Business Development/New Business or Account Management role (face-to-face experience imperative; experience within the fine foods arena desirable
- Educated to degree level or equivalent
- Self-starter who is target-driven and motivated – must be comfortable in a target oriented environment
- Excellent communication and presentation skills (telephone, written and face-to-face)
- Excellent time management, an individual who thrives on working autonomously
- Experience working in a marketing / agency/ media environment and understanding of (and passion for) the industry.
