Senior Manager, Manufacturing Operations – Wakefield

Salary Circa £70K + Bonus + Company Car + I Phone + Laptop + Pension Plan + Health Care

Wakefield Operations is the largest plant in CCEP and the biggest soft drink plant in Europe which produces over 50% of GB’s volume across their 7 manufacturing, 2 preform and 1 repack lines.  The site can produce 360,000 cans per hour and 132,000 bottles per hour. There are over 300 employees across Manufacturing, QESH and Engineering, experience here can lead to excellent career opportunities both in Wakefield and further afield across other GB sites and Pan-European locations.


What to expect:                                                                       

Reporting into the Site Director you will lead a team of Production Managers across multiple manufacturing disciplines to ensure the successful operation of the site.  Your key priority will be ensuring that we meet our customers’ expectations by producing Coca-Cola’s world class brand through effective execution.  You will be responsible for high speed & world class efficiency manufacturing lines.  Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensure production plans are converted into detailed line manufacturing plans to maximise efficient use of raw materials, people and maximise line utilisation
  • Deliver high standards of GMP (Good Manufacturing practices), in line with the Coca-Cola Operating Requirements (KORE)
  • Lead the manufacturing team, providing the vision, direction and support to meet and exceed site objectives
  • Support and develop the performance of individual team members
  • Play a leadership role within manufacturing, personally role-modelling behaviors and own performance required to achieve the site’s objectives 
  • Manage the production of quality finished products ensuring that line utilisation, and production schedules are met
  • Ensure on-line quality checks are carried out in accordance with quality testing standards to ensure product specification are  met at all times of the manufacturing process 
  • Collaborate with Engineering to ensure the maintenance plan is executed and control all planned and unplanned events to optimise line performance and production cost through production teams
  • Analyse all aspects of operational performance and work in conjunction with Operation Excellence to prioritise and scope CI projects, both preventative and corrective
  • Create a high performance culture capable of agile change making us fit for the future


Skills & Essentials:

  • Degree educated or degree calibre
  • Experience of operating at a senior level with a proven track record of delivering and exceeding  targets and driving change and improvements
  • Experience running a Manufacturing Operation
  • Quick at decision-making within a fast-paced environment
  • Great organization skills and strong attention to detail
  • Excellent communication (including presentations) and influencing skills
