Engineering Manager required at a Manufacturing and Production business in Greater Manchester. You will manage, support and deliver performance from the Engineering team, ensuring they are motivated and trained to deliver at the highest levels to support the Production team. You will be responsible for the safe and effective deployment of a Food Safe Maintenance Program, ensuring that Health and Safety and Food Safety are paramount in how the team delivers the program.Client Details
The client is a UK based leading Manufacturing and Production business in the FMCG Industry. They are based in Greater Manchester and have been delivering quality products into the market for over 100 years. They require an Engineering Manager on their site to take control of the Engineering team, develop/train the staff, ensure HSE is up to optimum standard and implement a strong PPM System.Description Engineering Manager Key Responsibilities:Responsible for 11 Direct ReportsResponsible for the safe and effective deployment of a Safe Maintenance Program, ensuring that Health and Safety and Food Safety are paramount in how the team delivers the program.
To support the Production Manager and Production team to exceed planned output targets and reduce waste in areas on a daily basis.
To constantly challenge working practises and implement improved ways of working.
To implement and manage a Performance Management system for the Engineering team, ensuring they are motivated and trained to deliver at the highest levels to support the Production team
To ensure that the teams are adequately staffed and that succession planning is in place to deal with employee turnover.
To manage the Departments costs within agreed budgets, with areas of overspend reported on in a timely manner.
To work with the Technical manager to improve the factory GMP standards in all areas.
To develop the PPM system such that planned and preventative maintenance is effective and that adequate stock holding of parts is maintained and accurate.
To work closely with Production on Process improvement projects.
To manage effectively all contract labour onsite to ensure that H&S or Food
Safety is compromised whilst individuals work on our premises
To develop and report key KPI's for the Engineering Dept performance together with corrective actions for missed targets
To manage the Overtime requirements to support the Production plan
The Successful Candidate will have:
- Engineering Qualification (HNC/HND/Degree/Time Served Apprentice)
- Experience in Engineering Management within the FMCG Manufacturing Industry
- Knowledge of BRC Standards and Practices
- Understanding of Maintenance systems and PPM, predictive maintenance and troubleshooting
- HACCP Level 3 Desired
- Proven ability in coaching and developing teams
- HSE Qualification Desired
