To maintain repairs & PPM of all items of Plant Machinery and site services. To work in conjunction with production as part of continuous improvements and to support the Group Engineering Manager. I have placed with this client twice last year, and both engineers are absolutely loving their roles. It's a great, multi-site business.


  • To carry out PPM as per the maintenance system.
  • Ensuring that all maintenance sheets are completed as far as is possible and returned to engineering coordinator/Group manager with reports filled in and suitably explained if further work is required.
  • To cover production breakdowns and ensure all jobs are carried out in a timely fashion and adhering to health and safety at all times.
  • Mentor production staff so that all engineering work requests are completed correctly and also that all forms that require a production hand over are signed before plant is handed back to production.
  • Report all defects that require additional time on machines so that these can be planned in to the maintenance system and production schedules.
  • Reporting of stock requirements and stock usage in order to keep stock movements live and up to date.
  • Maintain facilities both internal and external to the factory.
  • Assist engineering coordinator/Group manager in improving maintenance routines on their flexibility and regularity so as to lean down time scales required.
  • Mentor production team where required on correct use of plant machinery in order to prolong life span of equipment.
  • Work with production on continuous improvement projects to reduce downtime and product wastage at site.
  • Handling of external contractors where required and managing of them ensuring that they meet site health and safety requirements at all times.
  • To take reasonable care for their own health and safety and other persons who may be affected by their acts or omissions at work.

  • Time served apprenticeship either Electrical or Mechanical.
  • Working with single and three phase Plant & Machinery.
  • Good communication skills, Self-Motivated and a team player.
  • Good understanding of FMCG, Food Hygiene and Industry requirements.
