New Product Development Technologist
Well-known and highly recognised, our client is a major supplier of premium chilled and frozen products to a wide range of customers. They have a passion for innovation and are now seeking a Product Development professional to support and deliver key NPD projects across this fast moving category.
Reporting to the Head of NPD, you’ll be responding to customer briefs, using your creative flair to drive exciting new concepts that reflect up and coming food trends. Your role will encompass all stages of innovation from idea generation and development to consumer testing, factory trials and full scale launch to market, ensuring category innovation goals are achieved according the company’s commercial vision. You’ll work with key customers on a daily basis, keeping them updated on the critical path and product progress, ensuring expectations are met all the way.
This diverse role will involve heaps of project management whilst you work closely with customers and suppliers. You’ll also ensure food safety, legality and product quality is taken into consideration always alongside attending production meetings and trials.
Suit an ambitious and driven NPD Technologist with previous experience in food manufacturing – ideally the foodservice or retail sectors. A keen eye for emerging food trends is essential as well as a good understanding of the critical path plus creative and technical aspects of the product development process. You must have excellent communication and presentation skills coupled with the ability to build and maintain solid working relationships with key customers. You’ll also need exceptional attention to detail alongside great project management and organisation skills in order to achieve success in this challenging and rewarding role.
