Multi-Skilled Engineer

Dawnfresh is one of the UK’s largest producers of fish and seafood.  We’re farm our own trout as well as processing and manufacturing seafood products for food service and retail, both in the UK and around the world. We pride ourselves in the passion, knowledge and expertise of our team.  Here at Dawnfresh we work with some of the UK’s largest retailers and food service companies, and so have extensive knowledge of the market.

We are currently looking for Multi Skilled (Electrical Bias) Engineers for both our Uddingston and Arbroath sites. You will work as part of a team and be responsible for carrying out both planned and reactive maintenance including PPM’s, breakdowns, and repairs to a wide range of automated machinery.  

Key Accountabilities

  • Repair and maintain all equipment to the manufacturers standard
  • Carry out testing or repair work and complete relevant documentation
  • Carry out variety of maintenance tasks and record all work either in the log book or computer
  • Change and/or share duties with other engineering colleagues
  • Work with the Chief Engineer and Assistant Engineering Manager in managing the departments safety standards and compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Maintain relevant systems of work and record keeping as required by statutory customer and factory requirements
  • Flexible approach to shift working to meet factory requirements
  • Work on own initiative to ensure that all breakdowns and repairs are left in a safe condition
  • Communicate with team members, production managers and supervisors any breakdown information and timescales to the best of your knowledge

    The ideal candidate should possess:-

  • A proven track record within a food or similar FMCG manufacturing environment
  • Time served electrician with 17th Edition Qualification
  • HND Level or above in relevant engineering Qualification
  • Sound knowledge of engineering and electrical work complying with Health & Safety requirements and working as a team
  • The ability to trace faults – root cause analysis and the importance of maintenance and performance validation
  • Good engineering practices to reduce the risk of product contamination
