Job Title: Material Process Support (Stock Control)

Location: Hamilton, Scotland

Shift Pattern: 4on 4off, 7:00 – 19:00

Salary: £23,000

Purpose of Job: 

To ensure that all lineside material locations and associated stock are maintained in a well ordered and accurate fashion at all times. To provide support to Front line managers across Operations areas in the full end to end delivery of Manufacturing Order management & compliance, Material returns and stock control

Principle Accountabilities/ Duties & Responsibilities: 

  • Comply and promote adherence to stated departmental standards in GMP
  • Ensure the full and completion of the stock count schedule across line side areas
  • Complete full root cause analysis of all material stock discrepancies and put in place robust solutions
  • Provide timely and accurate reports to departmental managers highlighting value of write offs and escalating to appropriate level of authority for sign off
  • Audit the effective use of system by staff, escalate to managers where shortfalls are discovered and support the delivery of training as required
  • Proactively identify areas of the operations where performance shortfalls require addressed and/or where improvement can be achieved
  • Full management of MO’s across designated manufacturing lines including, material issue, opening , closure and reporting compliance
  • Deputise for reporting FLM through holidays and periods of absence , meetings etc

Principal challenges / Key features:

  • Full and uncompromising deployment of a robust MO management process and stock count schedule and ensuring that all team members are capable and fully trained in their roles
  • Ensuring full investigation of all MO and stock discrepancies
  • Supporting a mind-set shift to position where all staff see improvement as part of their day jobs

Technical or special knowledge, experience or training:  Full M3 training will be given


  • High level of personal organisation
  • Leadership and motivational skills
  • Competent decision making
  • Level of operational knowledge of M3 system
  • Has worked in a process FMCG environment
  • Can demonstrate a sound understanding of modern manufacturing and warehousing processes
  • Analytical and problem solving skills for resolution of system and operational issues
  • Able to prepare documentation and deliver training workshops
  • Confident verbal communication skills


  • Well-developed numerical abaility
  • Educated to ILM L3  or equivalent in a related vocational subject
  • Previous experience of food manufacturing
  • FLT accredited Licence holder
