They are now looking to appoint a Technical Manager to join their Senior Management Team is part of the next exciting phase of growth and a great opportunity to join a progressive business.

The Candidate:

You will have a proven track record leading teams in a Senior Technical /Quality role within Food Manufacturing.

You will ideally have a recognized food science qualification (degree level or equivalent), or with significant relevant experience, having obtained experience within a FMCG Process / food manufacturing company at a management level. 

Gravitas and strength of character is a must, you will able to strongly influence behaviours on site linked to Technical / Quality standards and Food Safety.

Significant experience of supplying to the leading UK retailers with relationships at a senior level is key for this role.

A stable track record – demonstrating you experience of driving a “quality “culture and ability to implement and then review change is essential as is the passion for what you do.

The Role:

You will report directly to the Managing Director, as Technical Manager you be responsible for the maintenance and development of the QMS, HACCP Plan and its practice on site in line with statutory, Company and Customer standards and requirements, driving continuous improvement.

A key part of your remit as Technical Manager is you and your team will be responsible for site audit standards including the hosting of customer audits (maintaining our AA* BRC, Customers, EHO etc.) implementing the HACCP plan and working closely with the Multi-Disciplinary Teams cross functionally with Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain and, HR.

You drive will drive continuous improvement which will encompass the investigation, report and close out to each customer’s satisfaction of all food safety and quality issues raised by them. As well as maintaining all customer specifications are accurate and up to date always and that raw materials are fully compliant.

You will recruit, lead and develop your technical team and drive & encourage a culture of Quality throughout the business as well as in your own department.
