Paul Nyman Consultancy are currently recruiting a Quality and Hygiene Manager for a successful bakery business in Newcastle

The Business

This business forms part of a larger group, a national food manufacturing company specialising in own label bakery products. They have manufacturing facilities across the UK and operate in multiple categories, supplying all major retailers.  

The Role

Key responsibilities will include:

• Ensuring QA audits relating to GMP, HACCP, quality and hygiene systems are audited at the agreed frequency Participating in customer site visits and factory tours 
• Investigating factory non-conformances and the traceability system to ensure compliance
• Supporting the Technical Manager and Site GM in driving the technical agenda to deliver consistently high quality products
• Managing the the hygiene team - currently a team of 12 operatives

The Individual

As a Quality Manager, you will have a degree or strong background in food-science. You will be motivated by developing exceptional factory standards and will be able to communicate the importance of this to other stakeholders within the businesses from the factory floor upwards. Reporting to the Technical Manager, you will form part of a strong team, who's focus is ensuring high quality at every step in the production process.
