PURPOSE OF ROLE

To manage Production on a shift basis and develop team to produce high quality baked goods with the highest level of Food safety and Health and Safety standards in a hygienic environment.

REPORTING AND KEY RELATIONSHIPS

  • Reporting directly to the Production Manager

Key Contacts:

  • Supply Chain, Technical, Engineering, Facility and PD Manager- Create and maintain effective working relationships

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Instil and promote a “Safety First” culture ensuring all team are H&S aware
  • Lead and educate the team to maintain world class manufacturing quality standards.
  • Liaise with the Technical & Quality Control team to identify quality issues, and support all quality issue investigations and any actions required to control and contain non-conforming product.
  • Motivate others to exceed prescribed targets/standards to achieve operational KPI’s
  • Embedding a continuous improvement philosophy in all approaches to work
  • Delivery of improvement projects to given timescales/plan
  • ·Problem identification and rectification/escalation
  • Use root cause analysis to find corrective actions and to solve problems
  • Effective management of team to include PDP’s
  • Proactive management of sickness absence and all performance and disciplinary issues
  • ·Effective communication and management of company policies, procedures and practices
  • Create a GMP levelof audit preparedness and tour readiness
  • Set out detailed training plans for the team to ensure full skills coverage and succession planning
  • Deliver the daily production plan for the line(s)/plant on time and in full
  • Instil and ensure the review and update of company standard operating procedures
  • Have effective handovers between shift engineer and Area leaders to reduce downtime, waste and improve efficiency
  • ·Prompt reporting of any accident or near misses to your Line Manager

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS/TRAINING

  • Relevant food manufacturing qualification
  • Ability to work under own initiative in a high speed environment
  • Continuous improvement techniques
  • Use of Microsoft Office packages
  • Motivation and leadership
  • Performance management
