Set the strategy, lead a new team, inspire your students - what an opportunity

Food & Beverage industry has not got quite the credit it deserves over the years. With constant pressure to deliver whether that is through volume or nutritional standards, it's easy to see why we have ourselves in such a candidate shortage. But, in recent years this has been recognized, the food industry holds the key to many things and our nation's health and wellbeing is certainly at the forefront of that. So there is a real push now for universities and colleges to really be the catalyst for change and bring more bright, motivated individuals into the industry.

This role is a shining example of this drive to nurture new Food Industry professionals. This establishment is opening a brand new facility and starting to teach Food & Beverage courses for the first time in their history. Exciting times, but as you can imagine they need a little bit of help and that's where you come in. You will be heading up a tight close-knit group, establishing a curriculum and how these students will be prepared for the real world. Initially you will be required to teach a good number of hours but as the courses progress and evolve, these hours will reduce. At which point you will be able to focus more on new course development and how you work in partnership with the Food and Beverage industry to delicver commercial benefit for the College and added value to your students and customers.

For this role you don't have to have come from a lecturing or Programme lead role, but if you have then great. You could also come from the industry and work in some form of L&D role. Or have a food industry background and a passion for imparting knowledge and skills to those you have worked with. An ability to think commercially and develop a institution/business will also be key.

You just have to be able to demonstrate that you can develop training programmes and implement them effectively.
