Quality & Food Safety Compliance Manager

This privately owned food manufacturer supply directly to retail customers in the UK, and are now expanding into international markets. Due to an internal restructure, an exciting new opportunity has arisen for an experienced Quality or Technical Manager to oversee all food safety and compliance for the site.

The role is responsible to manage regulatory compliance, food safety, managing the QMS, and driving technical standards. You will manage a small team, reporting to the Technical Director.

• Overall management & ownership of the QMS ensuring compliance to BRC & IFS standards.
• Support site senior teams in ensuring day to day GMP.
• Support the site QA teams in managing their HACCP systems.
• Direct management of the Specifications Technologist.
• Ownership & development of systems to ensure regulatory affairs compliance both UK & Internationally.
• Ensuring all artwork is developed on time in an efficient manner with no subsequent regulatory issues.
• Raw material specification control to ensure accuracy of information at all times.
• KPI reporting on GMP audit scores, supplier quality performance and artwork approval.
• Support and respond to internal & external audits as required.
• Support site implementation of company documented policies, procedures and specifications.
• Conduct supplier audits and manage non- conformance close out.

Person Specification:

• Experience working within food manufacturing, ideally working with complex products
• Legal knowledge & experience of food safety and regulatory legislation.
• Ideally will have experience in Technical Services/Systems
• Retailer knowledge
• HACCP qualification
• Experience with BRC
• Allergen Awareness
• Project Management – working cross functionally
• Food science qualification
