Quality Controller / QA Technologist, Barnsley, Food Manufacturing

An exciting opportunity has become available for an Intake QA. Reporting directly to the site Technical Controller, key duties will include;

• To maintain documented traceability for all products entering the site.
• To ensure that products fully comply with specification, carrying out checks on all products entering the site.
• Ensure that all raw materials are from approved suppliers and flag up any issues with the relevant personnel.
• Positive release of loads.
• Ensure that all product entering the site fully complies with the Food Safety Act.
• Food Hygiene Regulations and all relevant legislation.
• Manage raw material quality issues at intake, liaising with relevant personnel and suppliers as required.
• Maintain Quality Attribute System, carrying out assessments on all product entering the site to an established frequency.
• Establish good working relations with technical & production management teams, logistics dept & purchasing dept.
• Vehicle hygiene & temperature monitoring.
• Consignment documentation checks.
• Microbiological/Chemical Test sampling as required.
• Stock Control Audits.
• GMP Audits
• Trouble shooting/Problem solving.
• Equipment calibration as necessary.
• To be aware of any new or updated procedures.
• To ensure any foreign body hazards are removed and investigated.
• Ensure the HACCP system is being followed throughout the site and that personnel are challenged on the CCP's.

Hours of work 7am-3pm Mon-Friday . Will be working from two different sites so will ideally have own transport.

Salary £28,000-£33,000 + Benefits
