Food Technologist

Established for over 50 years, this food manufacturer has long been associated with quality. Operating from a 100,000 sq ft state-of-the-art site in East Lothian Scotland, they manufacture food products for the wholesale, retail, and food service sectors.

The purpose of the role is to work as part of a Technical team within a well-established food manufacturing organisation to ensure product is produced safely and complies with relevant legislation.

Key responsibilities:

• Specifications – Brakes Assure, Erodus, Quadex, Iceland, Morrisons, Apetito and various food service customers.
• Artwork Approvals
• Control of raw material specifications
• Quality Management System document control and updates
• HACCP
• Allergen Testing

Requirements:

• Degree qualified (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline (Food Science/Chemistry)
• Well organised, analytical and logical mind-set
• Keen interest in food
• Good computer skills
• Good communication skills

Hours of Work: 8am – 4.30pm
