Paul Nyman Consultancy are working with one of the UK’s leading manufacturers of ambient cakes and bakery products to recruit a Lead Technologist in the North West.

The Business

Our client develops and manufactures a wide range of high quality ambient cake products to supply the country’s leading retailers. As part of a privately owned UK equity business, they currently operate across bakery sites in the UK and Europe. As part of their continued growth plans they are expanding their Product Development team to meet the increasing demand for innovation and are looking for Senior Technologists to join the team in newly created roles.

The Role

Our client is looking for dynamic NPD professionals to work alongside the commercial team to drive NPD and innovation for key retail partners. This is a pivotal role within the business and will lead all aspects of product development from concept to launch. This a customer facing role that offers diversity; it requires commercial acumen to deliver cost efficient innovation, in addition to the opportunity to remain ‘hands on’ in the development kitchen.

The Individual

The ideal candidate will have previous customer facing NPD experience, perhaps gained in a more junior Development Technologist position. Working knowledge of sweet bakery is essential to succeed in this role and will suit creative individuals and innovators who thrive in a fast paced production environment.
