A Supply Chain Manager role has arisen for a leading Food Manufacturing Company based in Nottingham

The Role:

• Managing and driving relationships with suppliers and maximising the potential and cost savings through close monitoring and relationship building
• Sourcing of new suppliers and establishing new relationships, actively pursuing in-depth market knowledge with food, including New Product Development bespoke products.
• Management of contracts with suppliers and ongoing negotiations ensuring the KPI's are hit and exceeded alongside ensuring review of supplier performance for quality, service and non - conformance.
• Strategically procuring produce to ensure 100% availability on site whilst ensuring a to hit a wastage target of 0% from overstocking and out of life produce
• Working closely with planning to ensure that efficient supply of raw materials is available to meet production dates and that all relevant quality procedures are followed.
• Liaising with internal functions such as Operations, Technical, NPD and Logistics to ensure supply is met and that maximum life is available on all products.
• Experience in managing and owning a budget of £20 - £30 million per year
• Develop and execute a long term procurement strategy for the site including all tactical aspects of supply base management
• Ensure that appropriate reporting is maintained to ensure supply chain progress, performance and risk status.
• Develop and enhance the buying teams technical skills and competencies in the team, through assessing and identifying any knowledge gaps and running relevant development courses. Ensuring that team objectives are met and that buyers are inspired to go that extra step.

The Ideal Candidate:

• CIPS qualification or a degree in supply chain management or equivalent. Previous experience as Supply Chain Manager / Buyer / Purchasing Manager or similar is essential.

Salary: circa £45,000 + benefits
