You will be an experienced technical manager with experience of working in the manufacturing, retail or food service sector.

The Role

Taking control of a product area, you will deliver all aspects of the technical plan, ensuring quality, safety, legality and supplier performance. You will work with a variety of people at all levels, including suppliers, brand support, NPD and supply chain to deliver great products of the highest quality. You will drive the technical agenda for your category and will be responsible for delivering corporate responsibility targets. You could be working in a complex category and will need a detailed understanding of your area, becoming the technical expert for certain products. You will be a custodian to the brand and adopt a zero tolerance approach to failings of safety, legality and quality.  Working closely with NPD, you will be an integral part of the development process and deliver technical aspects on time including supplier approval. This role will also train and develop new colleagues/placement students to technical excellence and continue your own professional development.

Personal Profile

• Degree or equivalent experience in food industry
• Understanding of manufacturing including HACCP and BRC
• Previous experience in senior technical role within manufacturing supplying retail or retail itself
• Flexible to travel when needed
• Commercially aware
• Attention to detail and effective time management
