Sales Manager

Responsibilities

• Generate sustainable and profitable sales by identifying viable opportunities and then converting opportunities into firm business
• Meet with existing and potential customers on a regular basis to build, maintain and manage relationships (ca. 50% travelling).
• Develop relationships, based on mutual trust and respect, with key decision makers across all appropriate functions within client companies
• Support business development activities by developing and managing the product portfolio
• Maintain and update internal reporting system using all IT software programmes

Experience & Attributes

• Educated to degree standard in an appropriate subject and possessing a sound technical understanding and capability
• Minimum 3 years’ sales experience and active contacts in the food ingredients sector
• Experience in savoury ingredients, including herbs, spices and dehydrated ingredients could be an advantage.
• Fluency in English and be able to communicate effectively
• A high level of interpersonal capability and a variety of sales and negotiation skills
• An attitude to life which is results driven and customer focused,
• The ability to think conceptually
• A person which is hands on, pro-active and a team player

Location

The office is in a prestigious location in central London and the successful candidate would be expected to maintain a presence in the office when required (an office based contract is preferred, however a home office base can also be considered).
