This is a newly created key role within a new business structure & involves managing the day to day responsibilities across two merging departments whilst supporting the implementation of a new computer system.
Reporting To
The Finance & Operations Director
Key Areas of Responsibility
The successful candidate is to provide support to the Finance & Operations Director. The main areas of responsibility will be:
- Managing all operational, supply chain and associated finance matters.
- Managing a newly merged Logistics and Finance department; prioritising and delegating work load to ensure goals and deadlines are met.
- Managing and maintaining relationship with customers, distributors, suppliers and third-party logistics service providers to ensure the order processing, delivery, timely issue of invoices.
- Working closely with other departments (incl. the Sales team) to promote operational efficiency whilst operating within the companies Policies and Guidelines (Technical/BRC, Personnel, etc.)
- Planning, forecasting, forward ordering and maintaining adequate stock levels within cash-flow and currency constraints. Resolving any stock discrepancies.
- Supporting the introduction of the new ERP system ensuring all departmental staff are competent in its use.
- Identifying areas of potential cost cutting and efficiency savings.
- Processing and controlling any licence applications for Import/Export transactions subject to relevant regulations and law. These would include both EU and 3rd Country transactions.
- Promote the use of logistics cost modelling and understanding of logistics cost to support management’s end to end profitability analysis and investment decisions.
- Support the Finance Director across all administration functions as required.
The Candidate
The candidate needs to be very much ‘hands on’ with strong leadership skills, change-management experience and with a solutions orientated mind-set. The ability to show initiative and manage fluid sales and operational processes during a time when the business is repositioning is paramount. The candidate’s attributes must include strong communication skills, the ability to resolve complex operational issues, and, the ability to lead and direct a small but committed team. Keeping the management team fully briefed on any significant departmental issues is also a key requirement.
Terms
Permanent head office based position in Orpington (subject to initial 3 months’ probation period).
37.5hrs per week.
Benefits
Salary range: £37,000 - £39,000 (depending on experience)
Semi –Flexible Working Pattern. Additional hours as required.
Holiday Entitlement : 24 days (with 2 taken between 17/12 & 07/01)
