ROLE

Job purpose

•    To carry out quality assurance checks, auditing and development of the Quality management system. Ensuring food safety, legality and quality of the products manufactured at the site are maintained.
•    Promote quality and safety by leading by examples, challenging unsafe practises and behaviour.
•    To continuously assist in driving the site Technical agenda and the Health and Safety culture.

Main responsibilities 

i.    Ensure hold and release system is robust, an update right first time (RFT) database in timely manner.
ii.    To test incoming raw materials and packaging in accordance with the site technical requirements.
iii.    To raise non-conformance issues with the suppliers, manage the corrective actions response, ensuring the actions are closed in a timely manner and trend supplier performance.
    Collect the samples for the taste panel and ensure the relevant QAS and paperwork is available, document and trend results on the Taste Panel database.
iv.    Support QA Manager with completion of customer complaints on time.
v.    Conduct GMP, internal audits, glass and hard plastic audits and other unscheduled inspections across the site operation.
vi.    Raise concessions on request after confirmation with the QA or Technical Manager and keep database up to date.
vii.    Proactively identify non-conformances, identify route cause, manage the database and trend results.
viii.    Ensure that electronic version of Data bases for GMP, glass breakages, non-conformance, complaints, concessions, laboratory analysis, raw material trackers, taste panel and internal audits are maintained.
ix.    Cover QA manager by attending daily operation review meetings as and when required.
x.    Attend daily Shift Based Team Meetings (SBTM) meeting to drive quality and support production. 
xi.    Assist production to carrying out 5Ys investigations into non-conformance and trends to determine route cause and ensure action plans are in place to resolve the issues.

CANDIDATE 

Experience working in Quality Assurance either within the Food or Drinks Industry 
Good Communication skills 
HACCP Level 3, Food Safety Level 3
Experience working to BRC Version 7

The average contractual working week is 39 hours. This includes handover and takeover time when required.

The role will demand a high level of flexibility and hours will not necessarily be static for each week worked. Weekend working will be necessary as will night shift working. For weekend hours worked it will be processed at the appropriate rate, in accordance with the Overtime rules.
•    Shift pattern-6:00am-2:00pm Mon-Thus, 6:00-1:00pm Friday (week 1)
•    Shift pattern-13:55-22:00 Mon-Thur, 1255-1935 Friday (week 2)
•    There will also the need to work a night shift when required; 21:55-06:15 Mon- Thurs and 19:35-1:50 on a Friday. 

Budgeted salary- £25,014.27 plus 20% shifty disturbance allowance (SDA) and a 12% uplift (33% SDA for night shifts worked)
