Head of Technical

A Head of Technical role within a leading food manufacturer. Reporting directly to the Site Director, managing the Quality and Technical team on site. The Technical Manager will be responsible for leading and developing the technical team ensuring the highest technical standards are achieved.

Our client is looking to find a strong leader who will nurture and develop customer relationships whilst driving the technical function forward.

Technical Manager Duties and Responsibilities include:

*Responsible for ensuring the business has the appropriate auditing systems and monitoring in place to demonstrate due diligence, best practice, and full compliance with legal and customer specifications
*Direct experience of change management at a senior level and a strong track record of successful team management
*Evaluate compliance with the BRC Global Standard for Food Safety
*Develop the central technical strategy with site ensuring policies comply with food safety, quality and hygiene and legalities


The successful candidate will need to demonstrate the following skills and experience:

*Degree educated in a Food Science discipline or equivalent
*Extensive experience working within the meat industry
*Technically astute and the ability to build long standing relationships with customers
*Experience of leading and managing large technical teams
*Must be conversant with all retailer auditing standards and expectations
*Advanced Food Hygiene
*HACCP qualification
