This role will lead the Technical Function, which provides direction and operational guidance at all stages in the supply chain, to ensure the quality and safety of all Greencore food products

• Create and implement a technical strategy which directs the team to provide food safety and quality programmes aligned to current business priorities

• Provide direction and insight to the central purchasing team to ensure the integrity of the supply chain is continuously monitored and can be demonstrated to be in line with customer and food safety standards

• Enable the operational technical and hygiene teams to work with operations to support them to adhere to efficient and effective manufacturing practices which keeps Greencore’s products and processes safe, legal and compliant

• Act as the senior point of contact/ambassador with customers and external research and advisory bodies, to build our commercial relationships, drive excellence into the technical agenda and maintain Greencore’s positive reputation for safe and efficient food manufacture

• Lead the development and implementation of the sustainability agenda to ensure that Greencore delivers on its commitment to stakeholders

• Provide leadership and direction to ensure that across the technical teams people are engaged, focused, developed, achieving required results and delivering to their potential

• Collaboratively contribute to the development of the UK’s strategic plan to ensure that it performs profitably and delivers agreed strategic objectives

An experienced technical leader who has a previous track record of implementing and embedding a technical strategy in a large organisation
