Food Technologist (6 Month FTC)

The Company 

This is an excellent chance to get involved with NPD projects for this fresh thinking business who supply high quality products to prestigious retail and foodservice customers. A front runner in their sector, they are now looking for a Food Technologist who can support their multi-functional team on a six month fixed term contract to support the launch of a large range of new products.

The Role

Reporting to the Innovation Manager you will provide technical support to the NPD Team with involvement across all stages of development.  You will ensure the smooth transition of products from concept to launch, working with high profile retail customers. You’ll play a key part in the management of product quality and performance, ensuring technical compliance to specifications as well as nutritional and shelf life requirements. Guaranteeing Technical and Quality standards are achieved, you will also work with internal teams to ensure all ingredients, raw materials and finished products conform to agreed specifications and are produced safely and consistently.

The Person

We are looking for a bright and competent Food Technologist with a strong, well-rounded background in food manufacturing (ideally produce or high risk chilled products). You’ll have experience of supporting NPD and understand the concept to launch process, food and labelling legislation, packaging, nutritional data, shelf-life testing and micro standards.

Additionally you’ll be confident and able to use your own initiative, thinking outside the box to consistently reach and exceed high technical standards. You’ll have a logical and analytical approach, be able to work in a fast paced environment and have strong communication.
