We’ve got a fantastic job for a Shift Manager - Technical to join our Worsley manufacturing site. Reporting to the Technical Manager, you will be responsible for the day to day management and guidance of the technical team across all departments.

We have 2 positions both working nights

Position 1 is working Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and alternate Wednesdays (6pm to 6am)

Position 2 is working alternate Wednesday’s, Thursday, Friday and Saturday (6pm to 6am)

Requirements of the Job

As a Shift Manager - Technical, you will deliver food safety, legality, quality and integrity for all our customers and brands along with ensuring that all designated procedures and practices comply to legal, BRC and MMS requirements. You’ll be a strong people developer and performance manager through a coaching and leadership style and you’ll have an ability to be able to lead change through a continuous improvement approach as well as being able to support and advise colleagues on technical issues.

About You

You’ll have relevant experience or a degree in science, food technology, chemistry, microbiology or manufacturing along with knowledge of safety, legality, compliance and quality across supply chain and produce range. You will have previous experience/knowledge of high risk chilled food manufacture coupled with strong analytical and decision making skills. You will have excellent communication skills and solution focussed problem solver.

Worsley is a fast paced 24/7 site, working a continuous 4 shift system, producing a range of prepared vegetable and carbohydrate products such as Stir Fry packs, Roasting Veg Packs, Cooked pasta / noodles  and Prepared ingredients for salad bars and cafes. The site is a chilled manufacturing site with an operating temperature below  8ºC. 

It involves a low risk preparation area where all of the cutting and slicing is carried out, as well as a high care packing hall where the products are put into bags and punnets.  We also grow our own beansprouts on a beansprout farm a few miles away from the main site.
