We currently have an opportunity for a Quality, Environment, Health and Safety (QEHS) Manager to join our site in Melton Mowbray which produces award winning Stilton Cheese. The role would be employed on a fixed term contract of between 12-15 months to cover an internal secondment.

About the job

The role will drive and support the on-going implementation of the UK QEHS strategy whilst demonstrating a pragmatic and pro-active working style, possessing an operational mind-set.

As part of the site management team, your responsibilities will include supporting the Site Director in delivering agreed strategies and compliance, leading and developing the site HACCP and ensuring the site operates in line with specifications, codes of practice, budgets and standards. You will also ensure that manufactured products meet brand and customer specifications and codes of practice, and health and safety requirements. You will lead / manage /coach and develop individuals, and participate in group QEHS activities such as audits and projects in order to maintain all site accreditations and certifications including ISO 22000, IS018001, OHHAS 14001, BRC etc.

Who are you?

You will be a skilled technical professional with a degree in Food Science or related discipline and will hold a HACCP/NEBOSH general certificate or equivalent. You will have extensive proactive management experience gained within a technical role with the ability to challenge at all levels across the management team. Audit experience e.g. BRC, ISO 14001 and retailer standards e.g. Tesco, M&S is essential and experience gained within a FMCG/Dairy environment desirable.
