Specification Technologist

Working for a leading Food Manufacturer in the heart of the Suffolk Countryside we are recruiting for a Specifications Technologist to join the Technical team.  

Reporting directly to the Technical Manager the Specifications Technologist is responsible for co-ordinating all information for new product specifications and transferring data into specific customer formats.

You will complete finished product specifications for the retailers, manage retailer systems and manage critical path sign off for packaging, which involves checking artwork against specification. This role is integral to managing Food safety and Quality in line with legal requirements.  

This is a broad and challenging role where cross functional working is key.  

The ideal candidate must have some understanding of customer requirements/codes of practice as well as factory processes. You will possess a high level of attention to detail, excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and meet multiple deadlines.  

We are looking for a real team player with excellent communication skills, who is pro-active and motivated to deliver to high standards. You will be comfortable spending your time within the factory (when required), office and liaising with customers/suppliers on and off site and your analytical and thorough approach would make you a real asset to the team. Experience in working in a food factory environment is highly desirable.  

Knowledge and skills are important but we are equally looking for someone who will fit well with the team and will keep their positive and vibrant attitude in a fast paced environment with some challenging situations.  

Salary is up to £25k pa depending on level of experience
