Head of Sales
Eden Scott's client is a privately owned food business supplying a portfolio of products to a range of food manufacturers, retail and food service customers.
We are looking to appoint a Head of Sales who has a strong commercial background ideally with experience of short shelf life food products.
The role will be based in Glasgow but given the number of sites and depots across the group the role is expected to have considerable amount of traveling and nights away.
The role is responsible for one division of the larger group which was bought out of administration two years ago and was turning over c.£70 million pre administration. The business has now been fully integrated with the larger group and the focus has been on increasing profitable sales. The business now requires more managerial support to continue the change programme and drive profitability across all areas of the division.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Increasing profitable sales
- Controlling stock
- Controlling margin
- Build and develop a highly successful and functioning sales team.
- Customer visits.
- Previous Sales / Commercial experience in the food industry.
- Strong communication skills
- A good technical knowledge of food based products
- Analytical mind and an eye for detail
- IT Literate
- Agile mental arithmetic
- High energy and passion
- Working knowledge for HR legislation
