Maintenance Engineering Manager, Lockerbie

Reporting into the Site Director, this is a high profile role at one of the largest processors of milk in the UK converting over 500M litres of milk per annum into high quality fresh milk, cheese and whey products.

As Maintenance Engineering Manager, you will lead a team of Team Leaders and Engineers who work on a variety of rotating 4 on, 4 off patterns. You will manage Team Leaders and indirectly Engineering Technicians who are multiskilled, managing both planned and reactive maintenance across fast moving machinery, which has been heavily invested in.

You will ensure maintenance and optimal efficiency of the production plant, equipment, facilities and systems and ensure that the site complies with Arla Foods engineering specific standards and policies as well as the applicable law. You will manage and document maintenance activities ensuring quick responses in recovering production facilities in case of breakdown. You will prepare, negotiate and manage contracts with service providers in accordance with applicable policies and deliver input relating to investment needs for the site. In addition, you will participate actively in and contribute to global engineering forums to ensure alignment and learning between sites.

You are

You will have experience in a senior maintenance management role gained within a fast moving manufacturing environment, food an advantage. You will have a strong aptitude for financial control and previous experience of managing budgets and an understanding in support of the site maintenance forecast and project management. Recognised as a leader of people, you will have a proven track record of coaching and developing others and delivering results through your team. An understanding of continuous improvement and lean methodologies is desirable.
