The Role

In this exciting and challenging role you’ll be responsible for the day to day category management of a range of delicious food products for major a retail account. You’ll be applying your commercial insight to provide world class marketing standards and strategically develop new business opportunities. With your flair for spotting the latest food and consumer trends you’ll anticipate the direction of the category, working closely with internal and external customers to understand their objectives and form strong, proactive relationships for the delivery of ambitious business plans.

You’ll be tracking P&L and analysing sales data, keeping a close commercial eye on industry movements whilst translating key insights into effective sales and marketing campaigns. As the champion for customer and category needs, you’ll propose and present recommendations for range development and promotions that will influence the direction of the category, ensuring the business continues to grow and retain its enviable position at the forefront of the market. In addition you’ll build extensive networks across merchandising, supply chain, marketing and store ops to speed up decision-making/action implementation.

The Person

Suit an enthusiastic foodie of graduate calibre who has gained invaluable experience in a similar Category Management role within the food manufacturing industry. Previous involvement working with Tesco would be highly desirable along with an understanding of the category sector where you can utilise insights and translate them into commercial propositions. Great project management, negotiation and influencing abilities combined with superb interpersonal skills are crucial for achieving success in this role. You’ll also be able to think on your feet and deliver persuasive presentations with confidence and clarity in order to communicate your ideas effectively and win new business.
