Salary: £80-100k plus benefits

Our client is a highly successful and well established food manufacturing business supplying in to multiple sectors.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Operations Director to join the business. This senior leadership role involves the effective and efficient management of a complex market leading food business and a remit developing and achieving strategy, delivery and performance targets

Role:

Complete responsibility for site performance and all related activities in a way that achieves the business strategy, objectives, budget & KPI’s.

Plan, organise and direct manufacturing operation to minimise manufacturing costs through effective utilisation of manpower, equipment, facilities, materials and capital.

Establish and monitor all aspects of site performance (KPI’s) routinely e.g. output, customer service levels and complaints, yield, product quality, stockholding, waste, safety performance and service costs.  Investigate and remedy sub-standard performance.

Manage and motivate a multi-functional site management team ensuring that relevant operating and business standards and objectives etc. are communicated and understood at all levels. 

Drive lean manufacturing and continuous improvement programmes through manufacturing maximising KPI achievements on margins, yields and efficiencies underpinning operational excellence. 

Deliver capital projects on time and in budget.

Possess a thorough understanding of customer & supplier requirements, working closely with internal teams to ensure first class service levels are achieved and maintained.

This is a permanent full-time position for an ambitious professional Manager.

Requirements:

- Extensive experience within food production

- Strong leadership style allied to a hands-on approach to leading change

- A strong record of driving operational performance and continuous improvement programmes and of delivering significant improvements

- A passion for excellent customer service and product quality

- Must be results-driven, highly numerate and financially aware.

- Strong communication, negotiating and presentational skills

- Knowledge of lean manufacturing in a fast moving environment.

Remuneration:

In addition to the basic salary, benefits will include:  car allowance, bonus, healthcare and pension. Relocation assistance will be provided if required.

Candidates must have good spoken and written English, currently be resident in the UK and be entitled to work in this country.
