Exciting opportunities have arisen for an Engineering Technician, Electrically or Mechanical bias Multi-skilled Engineer to join our team of factory maintenance professionals. A friendly and welcoming bunch, who will help to make you feel at home within the business.

This role is for experienced hands on engineer that thrive on diagnosing faults and identifying corrective actions. An Engineer who like to roll up their sleeves and work on the tools, craftsmen that can offer their time as mentors to the apprentices and more junior engineers, team players that enjoy the atmosphere created by working with like minded people that understand while we face new challenges daily it's also essential that the working environment remains fun and friendly for the team.

The role is that of a key technical expert within the site's engineering team. With the ever-increasing demands of new technologies arriving on-site coupled with the challenges of maximising availability and output from 70+years old kit, the need for technical expertise, both electrical and mechanical, across a 24/7 shift pattern is essential in supporting the site's operational needs.

The Engineering Technician will work closely with Engineering Team Leaders, Maintenance Engineers and Engineering Managers, as well as interacting daily with operations colleagues such as Line Captains, Operators and QA Technologists.

Weighing up costs vs benefits to evaluate where maximum value-added effort/expenditure should be directed. Dealing with fast-moving production situations and reacting to internal customer demands to make the right decisions under pressure to keep the factory running without compromising people - or product-safety.

About you

• Previous Engineering Experience ideally multi Skilled
• Engineering Technician with a completed an electrical or mechanically-biased apprenticeship
• Ability to communicate effectively with those at all levels, written and verbal
• Coaching skills
• Ability to self-manage and motivate
• Ability to take on new skills and knowledge and apply these in the workplace
• Experience of FMCG manufacturing company - desirable not essential
• History in engineering roles on complex fast moving sites - desirable although not essential
