Technical Manager (Maternity Contract)

A position has arisen for a Technical Manager working for a dynamic food business which manufactures high end products. They work with their customers to develop an innovative, great tasting product range and have a great reputation for supply of retailer brand and work very closely with leading retail multiples and food manufacturers.
As Technical Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring that products developed meet agreed customer specifications and also managing the provision of technical information for customers in response to their complaints and questions.
You will be responsible for the technical team, be the technical point of contact for the business, ensure the factory is provided with sufficient standards and specifications, implement changes to site standards following audits, manage the customer complaint system and trend data, work with NPD and commercial to develop safe, legal and innovative products and also an environment of continuous improvement within the team.
We are looking for a passionate and dedicated individual with a solid technical / QA management track record within food manufacturing. You will possess previous UK retailer experience and strong account management experience – a background of working with M&S would be an advantage. Ideally educated to a degree level in a food science discipline, you will be a natural team leader, have high attention to detail and be customer focused.
The Technical Manager job is based in the Home Counties / South Central region and is paying £40,000 - £50,000 according to individual skills and previous experience.
This role is a maternity cover contract with a duration of 12 months, starting in mid-September.
