The job

As a key member of a talented team, the purpose of the Materials Manager is to effectively control all aspects of operational material costs for the business. You will support the production team with accurate information to enable timely investigations to be made for material usage performance, stock control and cash management.

You will oversee and improve the accuracy of the stock taking procedure, coordinate a detailed quarterly stock take for material/packaging, create a Weekly Dashboard showing trends and improvement opportunities, publish reports to identify stock usage for each material category, chair the Material Usage Variance (MUV) meeting, setting targets and actions plus maintain & improve key performance indicators.

Your experience

To be considered for the Materials Manager job, you will possess experience within a stock control, inventory management or similar supply chain related role from within food manufacturing. You will be a great communicator, be highly numerical plus be IT literate with strong knowledge of Excel. You will also have a good knowledge of lean manufacturing tools and be able to influence stakeholders and gold meetings to drive improvements.

More details

The Materials Manager job is based in the East Midlands region and is paying £34,000 according to individual skills and previous experience plus benefits including contributory pension scheme, life assurance and 32 days holiday per year (inclusive of bank holidays).

The standard working hours are Tuesday – Saturday, 40 hours per week although some flexibility will be required during peak periods.
