This leading Manufacturer of ambient / chilled foods supplying into major retailers. Your remit will be to manage the technical & quality related aspects of food production processes ensuring best in class delivery of all technical standards – relating to customer demands and legal compliance.

Provide pro-active management & support in ensuring the delivery of technical standards relating to legal and customer compliance.

Deliver the effective implementation of the QMS system to ensure integrity of all food safety, quality standards are delivered across the business

Take ownership of delivering improvements and training of these standards through the effective use of the technical team.

Assist in delivering a proactive quality based culture across the entire business

Work as part of a one team approach with peer group to raise profile & influence of technical team across the business using a proactive and cooperative approach.

This role would also suit an experienced QA Manager who may be ready for their next step in their career.  or a Technical Manager with the relevant skills and experience. 

You will ensure that appropriate controls are in place to deliver food safety, quality, legality and customer technical requirements. You will actively prevent a food safety issue occurring whilst having effective controls and systems in place to manage a crisis.

The successful candidate will lead and motivate the Technical team across all aspects of the department and set the technical agenda for the business unit in line with site strategy.  You will take a lead in defining a quality culture across customer service, raw material management and factory standards.

Formal requirements:

Essential – BSc/HND – Food Science/Food Technology.

Desirable – Min Level 3 HACCP, Level 4 Food Safety, Train the Trainer,

Experience:

BRC Audit Management & detailed understanding

Chilled Ready Meal Manufacturing

Chilled food microbiology.

Food business financial awareness – minimum 3 years

Min 3 years exposure to large retailers – ASDA preferable           

Min 3 years previous management & team management experience
